White Christmas!

Well blow me down with the backdraft from a moth's wing. We have actually had a White Christmas! By this I mean that snow fell on Wigan on Christmas Day. Twice actually, first time in the morning and again later in the evening. Now to those of you who may have just come into the house after shovelling 6 feet of snow off the drive, with limbs frozen and trembling, noses running faster than a Greek Olympic sprinter and a backache that'll keep you sleeping on a board for a month, this may not seem too important. However, when I tell you with a tremulous voice, almost in awe, that this is only about the 4th time in my lifetime, (56 and decaying rapidly), then perhaps you can appreciate what a momentous occasion this was. (And what a sad life we lead.)

The great thing about snow, of course, is it's magical property of making all our gardens look great.
Personally I've taken more photos of my garden with a dazzling white coat covering every blemish and dog turd than any other sort. The downside of course is not being able to see where the damn dog turds are and all the attendant problems therein.
Ah well, the alcohol is beginning to wear off and the warm glow that makes me feel affectionate, if not actually loving, towards my fellow man is fading quickly. Tomorrow will be time to get back to reality and look around for things to really talk about, so now I'll close this and get back into character.
Goodnight.
